Week 5 College Football Line Moves

The last Saturday in September arrives, and we’ve uncovered the biggest Line Moves to this juncture. Please return on Friday for updates on these contests and view our free picks and more.

CFB – (117) Utah at (118) West Virginia +12.5
Saturday, Sept. 27 – 3:30 p.m. ET /FOX

After West Virginia upset Pittsburgh, there was hope the Mountaineers had made enough progress under retread coach Rich Rodriguez toCollege Football Betting Advice,College Football,NCAA Football,College Football Line Moves,Week 5 College Football Line Moves,GamblersWORLD,Tennessee,Mississippi State,Indiana,Iowa,Norte Dame,Arkansas,Utah,West Virgina,Liberty,Old Dominion this point that improvement could be sustained. That doesn’t appear true after Kansas clobbered West Virginia 41-10. Utah was expected to show Texas Tech that money can’t buy wins. Well, maybe it can’t, but it gives you an edge in talent, which matters, and the Utes were no match for the Red Raiders in a 34-10 loss. Football bettors still see a vast talent difference in these Big 12 partners and lifted Utah from -10 to -12.5. Will the Mountaineers, at 6-0 ATS after failing to cover the spread in two out of their last three games, remain at this number for our next update on Friday?

Bet Percentage: Utah 81%

Doug’s Pick – Back Friday

CFB – (119) Liberty at (120) Old Dominion -16.5
Saturday, Sept. 27 – 6:00 p.m. ET /ESPN+

Liberty was thought to be among the favorites in Conference USA, but after three straight losses and no spread covers in four tries, the Flames have been doused. Liberty just fell 31-13 to James Madison at home and takes to the road to face another Sun Belt Conference foe in Old Dominion. The Monarchs are rested, off a bye week, after vanquishing Virginia Tech 45-26 on the road. ODU losing by 13 at Indiana looks better today after what the Hoosiers did to Illinois.  Liberty has blown up from +14 to +16.5. It won’t be easy for the Flames, having the #126 run defense, facing ODU’s #16 rush offense.

Bet Percentage: Old Dominion 54%

Doug’s Pick – Back Friday

CFB – (125) Notre Dame at (126) Arkansas +4
Saturday, Sept. 27 – 12:00 p.m. ET /ABC

Sharp money is betting against Notre Dame’s leaky defense, which is permitting 32.5 PPG, ranked #100 in total defense, a far cry from last season’s national runner-up. It is not far-fetched to think Arkansas could be 4-0 rather than 2-2. The Razorbacks have made critical fourth quarter miscues against Ole Miss and Memphis that cost them W’s. The Hogs have slid from +6 to +4 against the Fighting Irish. After watching the game film, Arkansas has to believe it can exploit Notre Dame’s defense in a high-scoring affair.

Bet Percentage: Notre Dame 59%

CFB – (133) Indiana at (134) Iowa Total 48.5
Saturday, Sept. 27 – 3:30 p.m. ET /Peacock

The bet percentage for this Big Ten battle says OVER, yet the early numbers say defense, with the total down to 48.5 from 51. Sharper bettors know how Iowa plays defense at home, and the aggressive Hoosiers’ defense took away anything Illinois wanted to do last week in allowing 10 points. One does wonder about the Hawkeyes’ improved offense that tallied 34 points in three of their four contests. And we saw how potent Indiana’s offense was last week in Bloomington. Indiana is on a 9-1 OVER run in away games.

Bet Percentage: 85% OVER

Doug’s Pick – Back Friday

CFB – (165) Tennessee at (166) Miss. State +7.5
Saturday, Sept. 27 – 4:15 p.m. ET /SECNCollege Football Betting Advice,College Football,NCAA Football,College Football Line Moves,Week 5 College Football Line Moves,GamblersWORLD,Tennessee,Mississippi State,Indiana,Iowa,Norte Dame,Arkansas,Utah,West Virgina,Liberty,Old Dominion

Mississippi State seems vastly improved at 4-0, which includes a victory against the defending Big 12 champs, Arizona State. Tennessee is feeling they should be 4-0, losing to Georgia in OT by three points. The Bulldogs were dropped two points to +7.5 point home underdogs in this SEC showdown. Miss. State will look to pass against the Vols, who, if you discount the Alcorn State contest, Tennessee’s been burned for 316 YPG in three other matchups. Tennessee’s fast-paced attack is #7 in yardage; however, the home team that loves the – Cowbells – is #14 versus the pass.

Bet Percentage: Mississippi State 55%
