Week 16 NFL Line Moves
We have reached the point of the season where we know who the playoff teams are, the Wild Card wanna-be’s and the lousy clubs. NFL bettors don’t seem to care much about playoff possibilities, which is why we have weekly Line Moves like these. See you on Friday for the super free picks (35-18 run).
NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers | Total 45 | Sunday Dec 21 | 1:00 PM ET | FOX
The first of two games in the next three weeks to determine the NFC South. Tampa Bay has fallen into the black hole at 1-5 SU and has not
covered a game since October. Carolina, in its last eight contests, has taken one step forward, followed by one step backward. (That’s wins and losses.) To this point, the wagering has lowered the total from 46.5 to 45, despite over 90% of the money on the OVER. This suggests early sharp money on the other side. It will be intriguing to see where all the elements go.

NFL Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals | Cardinals +2.5 | Sunday Dec 21 | 4:05 PM ET | FOX
Atlanta’s come-from-behind upset of Tampa Bay, along with Arizona’s continued losing, has the Falcons drawing huge support in the desert. Atlanta opened as a Pick and was bumped up to -2.5 road favorites. What makes this interesting is that the Falcons have once won two straight away games in four calendar football years and not in consecutive contests since 2019. That’s not to say the Cardinals give off a vibe of – ready to win – with one W since September.
Bet Percentage: Falcons 84%

NFL Pittsburgh Steelers at Detroit Lions | Total 52 | Sunday Dec 21 | 4:25 PM ET | CBS
Pittsburgh controls its destiny to take the AFC North by winning out. With the loss to the Rams, Detroit needs a three-game win streak to close the season and have others above them falter to return to the playoffs. We know the Lions have the offense to win, but what about the defense? Detroit has coughed up 32.2 PPG in its past four tries. Say what you will about Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers offense, they have tallied 27 or more points in four of their previous five tilts. Knowing this, the total jumping two points to 52 for an indoor skirmish is not unreasonable.
Bet Percentage: OVER 98%

NFL Cincinnati Bengals at Miami Dolphins | Dolphins +2.5 | Sunday Dec 21 | 1:00 PM ET | CBS
You know you’re not having a good year when your Sunday night prime-time conflict is flexed to an early afternoon affair. To the amazement of nobody, the Bengals and Dolphins were “officially” eliminated from the playoffs last week. Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa both had bad games last week. However, those with the cash are inclined to see Burrow bounce back then Tua (despite the Cincy defense), lifting the Bengals from a Pick to -2.5. Also, Fins coach Mike McDaniel early in the week would not commit to Tua starting in this matchup. Stay tuned.

NFL New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens | Ravens -3 | Sunday Dec 21 | 8:20 PM ET | NBC
New England saw its 10-game win streak come to a crashing halt unexpectedly, blowing a 21-point lead at home to rival Buffalo. Baltimore returned to .500 with an impressive shutout of Cincinnati on the road. The Patriots slid to the #2 seed in the AFC. The Ravens have to win out and hope Pittsburgh falters before they meet in the season finale. In a bit of a surprise, Baltimore crept up from -1 to -3 point home favorite. Do you ignore the Pats are 6-0 SU in the traveling uniforms this season?
Bet Percentage: Patriots 56%
