Three AL Teams to Watch This MLB Season
Here are three American League teams to watch in the MLB futures betting market for 2026, as the Red Sox, Tigers, and Orioles made aggressive offseason moves that could dramatically impact the pennant and division races.
Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox had one of the most eventful offseasons in all of Major League Baseball, making aggressive moves to reshape both
their lineup and pitching staff.
After losing Alex Bregman to the Chicago Cubs in free agency, Boston wasted no time filling the void at third base, acquiring Caleb Durbin from the Milwaukee Brewers in a trade.
The Red Sox also made major upgrades to their pitching staff. They signed Ranger Suárez in free agency and traded with the St. Louis Cardinals to bring in veteran arm Sonny Gray, strengthening a rotation that already features standout lefty Garrett Crochet.
And they were not done there. Boston also landed catcher Willson Contreras in a deal with St. Louis, adding another proven bat to the lineup.
With this wave of offseason additions, the Red Sox look built to contend and could be one of the most dangerous teams in baseball this season.
Detroit Tigers

After a strong season a year ago, the Detroit Tigers look poised to take another step forward in 2026.
The biggest offseason boost came with the addition of pitching ace Framber Valdez, giving Detroit another elite arm to pair with standout Tarik Skubal at the top of the rotation. That one-two punch instantly elevates the Tigers into serious contender status.
The AL Central odds are especially intriguing. Last season, Detroit saw a 15.5 game division lead slip away as the Cleveland Guardians came from behind to win the AL Central. However, the Tigers responded when it mattered most, knocking Cleveland out in the AL Wild Card round. With the division still looking wide open, Detroit has a legitimate opportunity to capture its first AL Central crown since 2014.

for the first time in a couple years. The front office responded aggressively, making one of the most exciting moves of the offseason by acquiring Pete Alonso from the New York Mets, while also trading for left-fielder Taylor Ward from the Los Angeles Angels.
Baltimore strengthened the rotation with the additions of Shane Baz and Chris Bassitt, and solidified the back end of the bullpen by signing closer Ryan Helsley. With impactful upgrades across the roster, the Orioles appear positioned for a resurgence, making their win total a number worth serious consideration this season.
